About us...

New members are always welcome.  No membership fees apply.

Friends of Bedford Park (FoBP) was established in 2013.  We are a non-funded, not-for-profit, volunteer community group.  Our group meets on a monthly basis in Bedford Park, corner Love and Water Streets, Spring Hill, in the picnic shed.  We are made up of local residents, community organisations, government and business representatives, as well as members from the broader Brisbane community.  Our mission is to create an identity and maximise the use of Park facilities through its ongoing preservation, improvement and beautification.  We also work closely in consultation with the Brisbane City Council and other local community organisations to enhance park security and environment.  And, with the establishment of regular community based activities with a focus on child and family welfare—continue the legacy established by (Mary) Josephine Bedford.

We want YOU!

Members will enable us to more effectively advocate to relevant authorities for landscape improvements, facility upgrades and seek special grants for park events and activities.  Bedford Park is the green heart of a growing community.

As a member you are encouraged to:

1.    Use the park for recreational activities and join in organised community events held in the park.

2.    Report any prohibited activities observed in the park by calling the BCC Community Safety Officer

on 07 3407 0201 and Policelink on 131 444. These public authorities appreciate this type of community

involvement in improving safety and security in the park and greater community.

3.   Attend our regular meetings and share your ideas relating to ongoing park preservation, improvements and

beautification, and future community events to be held in the park.

4.   Share your special skills and talents and contribute in the preparation for grants and other group initiatives.
